Parent Partnership
You Know Your Child Best
I believe parents play the most important role in shaping their children’s hearts, minds, and character. You know your child in a way no one else does, and your influence carries the greatest weight in their growth and healing. My role is not to replace that, but to come alongside you—offering support, insight, and practical tools as you navigate challenges and help your child thrive.
Support Beyond the Therapy Room
Because of this, parent involvement is an essential part of the work I do. Therapy is most effective when it extends beyond the therapy room and into everyday life. I regularly connect with parents to share what I’m seeing, offer guidance, and collaborate on ways to support your child at home.
Guidance for the Journey
My goal is for you to feel encouraged and equipped—not dependent on therapy, but more confident in how to support your child long after our work together ends. When parents and therapist work as a team, children experience greater consistency, deeper connection, and more lasting change.
Filial Therapy: Coaching You to Connect
For some families, I offer filial therapy—a short-term, parent-focused approach where I teach you how to use therapeutic play skills with your child at home. In these sessions, I guide you step-by-step in creating a special, structured playtime that strengthens your connection and helps your child feel seen, safe, and understood.
You’ll learn simple but powerful skills like reflecting your child’s feelings, following their lead, and setting gentle, consistent limits. We’ll meet regularly to practice, troubleshoot, and build your confidence, so you feel comfortable using these tools on your own. Many parents find this approach not only helps with current challenges, but also deepens their relationship with their child in lasting ways.
